The Sagebrush Babes

Our story

I, Darby, took over the business in 2019 which came with the horse trailer. As a wife and new mom, I started slowly and took on a few events at a time to get used to the business.  With the help of my mom and husband, I worked events and used word of mouth & social media marketing to get more business. After saving a little money from each event I found and purchased the wood bar on Facebook Marketplace in 2020. Now that I had two rental options, I knew it was time for some help. So, I called the first person who came to mind, my roommate from college and the only one I knew I could work with, Reann. Now that the business had options for rentals. more clients were beginning to call about booking. I saved a little more and found the camper bar which I bought and flipped with my family in the summer of 2021. With more bars I knew we couldn't be in more places than one without help, so I trained a couple girls to be backups if we needed help at a large event. With the surplus of events happening after 2020 wedding lockdown, there were plenty of calls coming in. In 2022 I had the opportunity to set up one of our bars at a semi-permanent location- Wilfong's Cajun Shack & Oyster Bar in Bluff Dale Tx. In 2023 my family and I moved from the original business location in Stephenville, up to Jacksboro, Tx. Not wanting to change the setup of the business the only thing I could think to do was add a branch and run both locations from my new home with the help of my mom! In 2024 more great business opportunities came up for me in the Jacksboro area! With the increasing difficulty of running a hands-on business from afar. I knew something was going to have to change, but I knew I couldn't trust just anyone, so who did I call when I needed help? Of course, I called Reann!

About Darby

As a wife and mom to one little boy, I am always on the go. I like to be busy so I am always helping someone or working on a project for something. I love to help people and find joy in problem solving. I enjoy working out in all styles, thrift shopping, gardening/taking care of my houseplants, helping my husband on the family ranch, and riding horses when I can. Growing up I had a lot of different jobs and at the time, I thought I was being too picky but now that I have so many experiences in different fields, I find it very useful today! The western style of the business comes from my family- everyone from the young to the old trail ride, ranch, farm, barrel race, team rope and more- It's just who we are. I love to learn new things so I am always up to something- some would say jack of all trades, master of none! If you asked me what a day in my life would look like I would say any of the following:

Working for my mobile beverage service

helping at the ranch

watching my son

painting for a client

help coordinate weddings

social media accounts for an Airbnb & car service

and the newest is learning to tattoo

About Reann

I have a real passion for people. More specifically, a passion for curating an atmosphere in which people can be their true, authentic selves. In 2018, I took a huge leap and started a job as a part-time leasing agent for a student housing property management company. I have always had a mind for business management and finding ways to increase profit and customer satisfaction. Since 2018, I have "climbed the corporate ladder" as some would say and earned the Property Manager title in 2021 which is now my full-time career! Although I started my career in corporate America, my one true passion has always been the western lifestyle. There are so many lessons to be learned from anyone living a western life. My first hands-on introduction to the western lifestyle came from my amazing friend turned business partner, Darby! I spent many days working for her parents, painting the arena, learning to drive a tractor, learning the fundamentals of riding horses, lots of hours spent roping a dummy and mucking many stalls! At my core, I naturally analyze everything. I'm a realist, what can I say! The opportunity to learn is something I strive to never take advantage of. On any given day you can find me tending to my plants, researching what chickens to add to my flock, taking care of our three heelers, cuddling with my cat, convincing my boyfriend that we do in fact need more cows or finding any way to work with my hands. I'm a busy body in all aspects of life and I find so much purpose in working with people.
